The appellant challenged a decision of the Zurich Social Insurance Court in a health insurance matter. After the Federal Court denied legal aid as hopeless, it ordered an advance on costs and later granted an additional grace period with a warning of non-entry. Because the appellant still did not pay the advance, the single judge held that the appeal could not be entered into in simplified proceedings. The appellant was ordered to pay court costs of CHF 200.
Art. 62 Abs. 3, Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a und Abs. 2 BGG; non-payment of the ordered advance on costs within the set and extended deadline leads to non-entry into the appeal in simplified proceedings. Where the party fails to comply despite a warning, the Federal Court may decide without further exchange of submissions. The unsuccessful appellant bears the court costs under Art. 66 Abs. 1 and 3 BGG.

in die Verfügung vom 12. März 2008, mit welcher C.________ zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses innert einer Frist bis am 11. April 2008 aufgefordert wurde,
in die Verfügung vom 22. April 2008, mit welcher C.________ zur Bezahlung eines Kostenvorschusses innert einer Nachfrist bis zum 5. Mai 2008 verpflichtet wurde, ansonsten auf das Rechtsmittel nicht eingetreten werde,
in Erwägung,
dass der Beschwerdeführer den Vorschuss auch innerhalb der Nachfrist nicht geleistet hat,
dass deshalb gestützt auf Art. 62 Abs. 3 BGG im vereinfachten Verfahren nach Art. 108 Abs. 1 lit. a und Abs. 2 BGG auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist und der Beschwerdeführer nach Art. 66 Abs. 1 und 3 BGG kostenpflichtig wird,
erkennt der Einzelrichter:

Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
2.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 200.- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
3.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Sozialversicherungsgericht des Kantons Zürich und dem Bundesamt für Gesundheit schriftlich mitgeteilt.

Whether the appeal had to be entered into despite non-payment of the advance costs within the deadline
No. Because the advance costs were not paid even within the grace period, the court had to decline to enter into the appeal in simplified proceedings.
Under Art. 62(3) BGG, failure to pay the ordered advance costs within the set period justifies non-entry under Art. 108(1)(a) and (2) BGG.
Who bears the court costs of the federal proceedings
The appellant must bear the court costs.
As the appeal was not entered into, costs were imposed on the appellant under Art. 66(1) and (3) BGG.
