The Ticino Social Insurance Court dealt with an appeal against a compensation-cassation decision concerning supplementary benefits. After the court had set a deadline for the respondent’s answer, the appellants filed a letter withdrawing the appeal. The court held that the case had become moot and ordered it struck from the docket. It also ordered that no court taxes or costs be levied, and notified the parties accordingly.
Withdrawal of the appeal renders the proceedings devoid of object; the appellate court will strike the case from the docket. In such circumstances, and absent special reasons, no court fees or expenses are charged (consid. 1-2).
