ORDER SUSPENDING TARIFF
BY THE COMMISSION:
Background
On September 3, 2026, Tampa Electric Company (TECO) filed a petition to implement
its 2027 Subsequent Year Adjustment (SYA). We previously approved the 2027 SYA in our
final order addressing TECO’s request for base rate increase, Order No. PSC-2025-0038-FOF-EI
(Rate Case Order). 1 Pages 150-169 of the Rate Case Order discuss the 2027 SYA, including the
specific projects and their associated incremental operating and maintenance expense,
depreciation expense, and investment tax credit amortization. Based on our approved
adjustments to each of the projects, the total 2027 SYA revenue requirement is $9,089,346,
effective with the first billing cycle of January 2027? In this petition, TECO’s has proposed
tariffs to implement the $9,089,346 SYA, using its most recent billing determinants as required
by the Rate Case Order. 3
In November 2025, we approved TECO’s petition to implement its 2026 SYA. 4 The total
2026 SYA revenue requirement approved was $87,727,795. We further found that all relevant
projects appeared on track to meet the time periods contemplated in the Rate Case Order.
We have jurisdiction over this matter pursuant to Sections 366.04, 366.05, and 366.06,
Florida Statutes (F.S.).
