The Verein X. withdrew its complaint before the Federal Supreme Court on 31 March 2014 in proceedings concerning authorization to open a criminal investigation. The Court therefore struck the complaint from the docket without examining the merits. Consistent with the withdrawal, the Court ordered the appellant to pay federal court costs of CHF 500. The order was issued by the I. public law division of the Federal Supreme Court and communicated to the parties, the Zurich public prosecutor, the cantonal appellate prosecutor, and the Zurich High Court.

dass der Verein X.________ seine am 13. Januar 2014 betreffend Ermächtigungsgesuch zur Eröffnung einer Strafuntersuchung erhobene Beschwerde mit Eingabe vom 31. März 2014 zurückgezogen hat;
dass die bundesgerichtlichen Kosten dem Ausgang des Verfahrens entsprechend dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG);
Die Beschwerde im Verfahren 1C_18/2014 wird als durch Rückzug erledigt abgeschrieben.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien, der Staatsanwaltschaft I des Kantons Zürich, der Oberstaatsanwaltschaft des Kantons Zürich und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zürich, III. Strafkammer, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
