The appellant challenged a Federal Administrative Court judgment concerning annulment of facilitated naturalization but later withdrew the appeal. The Federal Supreme Court therefore discontinued the proceedings and ordered no court costs.
Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG; withdrawal of an appeal renders the proceedings moot and leads to striking the case from the docket. Where the appellant withdraws the appeal, the Federal Supreme Court may terminate the proceedings without adjudicating the merits. If the court dispenses with costs, no court costs are levied.

dass auf die Erhebung von Gerichtskosten verzichtet wird;
verfügt der Präsident:

Das Verfahren 1C_316/2008 wird infolge Rückzugs der Beschwerde abgeschrieben.
2.
Es werden keine Gerichtskosten erhoben.

Diese Verfügung wird dem Beschwerdeführer, dem Bundesamt für Migration und dem Bundesverwaltungsgericht, Abteilung III, schriftlich mitgeteilt.
