l'ordonnance du 21 août 2008 lui impartissant un délai supplémentaire de 10 jours pour verser cette avance;
la déclaration de retrait de recours du 28 août 2008;
l'art. 32 al. 2 LTF et 73 PCF en relation avec l'art. 71 LTF;
considérant:
qu'il y a lieu de prendre acte du retrait du recours et de rayer la cause du rôle;
que les frais judiciaires incombent à la recourante (art. 66 al. 1 LTF);
par ces motifs, le Président ordonne:

La cause est rayée du rôle par suite de retrait de recours.
2.
Les frais judiciaires, arrêtés à 300 fr., sont mis à la charge de la recourante.
3.
La présente ordonnance est communiquée à la recourante et au Bureau de l'assistance judiciaires du canton de Vaud.

Whether the withdrawn appeal should be struck from the docket
The court took note of the withdrawal and struck the case from the docket.
Once the appellant declared withdrawal, there was no longer a live appeal to decide; the court therefore removed the matter from the roll.
Allocation of court costs after withdrawal
Court costs were imposed on the appellant.
Under the applicable federal procedural rules, the costs follow the withdrawal of the appeal and are borne by the withdrawing party.
