que la décision attaquée déclare irrecevable, faute de contenir des conclusions et une motivation suffisante, un recours de A.________ contre une décision rendue le 30 juin 2010 par la Justice de paix de Genève dans le cadre de la succession de X.________;
que dans son recours au Tribunal fédéral du 22 octobre 2010, complété le 3 novembre 2010, le prénommé ne s'en prend pas, de manière compréhensible, aux considérants de la cour cantonale et ne démontre donc pas en quoi la décision de cette autorité serait contraire au droit ou à la Constitution;
qu'ainsi, faute de contenir une motivation répondant aux exigences des art. 42 al. 2 et 106 al. 2 LTF, le recours doit être déclaré irrecevable en procédure simplifiée selon l'art. 108 al. 1 let. b LTF, aux frais de son auteur (art. 66 al. 1 LTF);
qu'invité, par ordonnance présidentielle du 26 octobre 2010, à élire un domicile de notification en Suisse (art. 39 al. 3 LTF), le recourant n'a pas donné suite à cette injonction, de sorte qu'il n'y a pas lieu de lui notifier le présent arrêt en France, l'exemplaire qui lui est destiné étant conservé au dossier, à sa disposition;
par ces motifs, la Présidente prononce:

Le recours est irrecevable.

Les frais judiciaires, par 1'000 fr., sont mis à la charge du recourant.

Le présent arrêt est communiqué aux participants à la procédure et à la Cour de justice du canton de Genève. L'exemplaire destiné au recourant est conservé au dossier, à sa disposition.
