The appellant withdrew the appeal against the Zug cantonal court decision in attachment-enforcement proceedings. The Federal Supreme Court therefore discontinued the case by the presiding member, declared the request for suspensive effect moot, and charged court costs of CHF 500 to the appellant. The decision was notified to the parties, the enforcement office, and the cantonal court.

Januar 2013 zurückgezogen hat, das Beschwerdeverfahren daher durch das präsidierende Abteilungsmitglied (Art. 32 Abs. 2 BGG) abzuschreiben ist (Art. 71 BGG i.V.m. Art. 73 BZP), das Gesuch um aufschiebende Wirkung gegenstandslos wird und die Kosten dem Beschwerdeführer aufzuerlegen sind (Art. 71 BGG i.V.m. Art. 5 Abs. 2 BZP, Art. 66 Abs. 1 BGG),
verfügt das präsidierende Mitglied:

Das Verfahren 5A_955/2012 wird als durch Rückzug der Beschwerde erledigt abgeschrieben.

Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 500.-- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.

Diese Verfügung wird den Parteien, dem Betreibungsamt A.________ und dem Obergericht des Kantons Zug schriftlich mitgeteilt.

The proceedings were struck off as concluded by withdrawal of the appeal.
Once the appellant withdrew the filing, the Federal Supreme Court had to discontinue the case under the applicable procedural rules.
How to rule on costs and the request for suspensive effect after withdrawal
The request for suspensive effect became moot, and court costs were imposed on the appellant.
Because the appeal was withdrawn, the suspensive-effect request no longer had a purpose; costs follow the withdrawal and were charged to the appellant.
