The appellant withdrew his criminal appeal by letter of 18 December 2007. The President of the Federal Criminal Court therefore ordered the case struck from the docket and decided that no judicial costs would be collected. The order was communicated to the parties and to the cantonal accusation court.
Withdrawal of appeal; striking a case from the docket follows once the appellant clearly withdraws the remedy. In such a situation the court terminates the proceedings without entering into the merits; absent special grounds, no judicial costs are levied (consid. 1).
