The defendant filed a criminal appeal against the Basel-Landschaft cantonal judgment for multiple forgery. Before the Federal Supreme Court decided, the appeal was withdrawn by letter of 20 August 2009. Whether the criminal appeal should be dealt with after withdrawal
The appeal was removed from the docket as it had become moot after withdrawal.
Because the appellant withdrew the criminal appeal in writing on 20 August 2009, there was no longer a live dispute for the Federal Court to decide.
