A request for restitution must be filed within 30 days after cessation of the hindrance; this period is peremptory. An internal error by counsel, such as a mistaken interpretation of the acknowledged service date, does not constitute an unexcused hindrance within the meaning of Art. 50 BGG. If both the appeal and the restitution request are out of time, the Federal Court does not enter into the matter and allocates costs to the appellant under Art. 66 BGG.

Nach Einsicht
in die Beschwerde vom 22. Oktober 2007 (Poststempel) gegen den gemäss postamtlicher Bescheinigung am 12. September 2007 an P.________ ausgehändigten Entscheid des Versicherungsgerichts des Kantons Aargau vom 28. August 2007,

in Erwägung,

dass die Beschwerde nicht innert der nach Art. 100 Abs. 1 BGG 30tägigen, gemäss Art. 44 - 48 BGG am 12. Oktober 2007 abgelaufenen Rechtsmittelfrist eingereicht worden ist,
dass der Rechtsvertreter des Beschwerdeführers in seiner Stellungnahme vom 11. Dezember 2007 ein Gesuch um Wiederherstellung der versäumten Beschwerdefrist nach Art. 50 BGG stellt,
dass offen bleiben kann, ob die durch Dr. H.________, X.________ AG, attestierte Arbeitsunfähigkeit vom 3. bis 22. Oktober 2007 einen Wiederherstellungsgrund im Sinne des Art. 50 Abs. 1 BGG darstellt,
dass das Wiederherstellungsgesuch verspätet gestellt worden ist, nämlich nicht, wie es Art. 50 Abs. 1 BGG verlangt, innert 30 Tagen nach Wegfall des Hindernisses, sondern erst im Anschluss an die Gewährung des rechtlichen Gehörs (Verfügung vom 27. November 2007), als dem Rechtsvertreter, den gemachten Angaben folgend, sein Versehen, d.h. die falsche Interpretation des von ihm quittierten Empfangsdatums "als 22.09.07 statt 12.09.07", bewusst wurde, welcher - für die verspätete Einreichung primär kausale (allenfalls mitursächliche) - Irrtum jedoch seinerseits nicht als unverschuldeter Hinderungsgrund fristgerechten Handelns anerkannt werden kann,
dass deshalb auf die Beschwerde nicht einzutreten ist und der Beschwerdeführer nach Art. 66 Abs. 1 und 3 BGG kostenpflichtig wird,

erkennt das Bundesgericht:

Das Wiederherstellungsgesuch wird abgewiesen, soweit darauf einzutreten ist.
2.
Auf die Beschwerde wird nicht eingetreten.
3.
Die Gerichtskosten von Fr. 300.- werden dem Beschwerdeführer auferlegt.
4.
Dieses Urteil wird den Parteien, dem Versicherungsgericht des Kantons Aargau, der Ausgleichskasse des Kantons Aargau und dem Bundesamt für Sozialversicherungen schriftlich mitgeteilt.
