The appellant filed an appeal on 8 May 2001 against a 24 April 2001 decision of the Cantonal Department of the Territory concerning vegetation-cutting works on a slope. On 7 June 2001, the appellant withdrew the appeal. The Administrative Court therefore held that the proceedings were exhausted and ordered the case struck from the roll. It further decided that no court fees or costs would be levied.
Withdrawal of the appeal renders the proceedings moot; the administrative court strikes the case from the roll and, absent special circumstances, does not levy fees or costs. The court does not examine the merits once the appellant has validly withdrawn the remedy.
