The Federal Constitutional Court dismissed the electoral complaint. It referred to the reasons already given in the rapporteur’s letter of 14 March 2016 and, pursuant to § 24 sentence 2 BVerfGG, dispensed with any further reasoning.
§ 24 S. 2 BVerfGG; rejection of an electoral complaint without further reasons: If the court dismisses a Wahlprüfungsbeschwerde for the reasons previously communicated by the rapporteur, it may refrain from issuing additional reasons. The provision permits an a-limine dismissal by summary order where the decisive grounds have already been conveyed to the complainant; no separate elaboration in the decision text is required (cf. consid. 1).
