MUNICIPAL DEBT, ELECTIONS TO INCREASE - REPEALED
                  Act of May 28, 1913, P.L. 377, No. 259              Cl. 11
                                  AN ACT

     Fixing the time within which an election may be held to increase
        municipal indebtedness for the same purposes and on the same
        subjects as were defeated by a majority vote at a previous
        election.

        Compiler's Note: Section 802 of Act 807 of 1941 provided
            that Act 259 is repealed insofar as it relates to first
            class cities.
        Compiler's Note: Section 2301 of Act 274 of 1919 provided
            that Act 259 is repealed insofar as it relates to first
            class cities.
        Whereas, Section four of an act, entitled "An act to regulate
     the manner of increasing the indebtedness of municipalities, to
     provide for the redemption of the same, and to impose penalties
     for the illegal increase thereof," approved the twentieth day of
     April, Anno Domini one thousand eight hundred and seventy-four,
     prescribes that no other election can be held on the same
     subject for one year from the date of the preceding election,
     thus causing, in certain years, a special election, or requiring
     the election to be postponed for another year; therefore,--

        Section 1. Be it enacted, &c., That whenever an election is
     held to increase municipal indebtedness, and the increase is
     defeated by a majority vote, another election for the same
     purposes, or on the same subjects, may be held after fifty-one
     weeks; and that, on the fourth day of November, Anno Domini one
     thousand nine hundred and thirteen, an election may be held to
     increase municipal indebtedness for the same purposes, or on the
     same subjects, as were defeated by a majority vote at the
     election held on the fifth day of November, Anno Domini one
     thousand nine hundred and twelve.
