PROJECT 70 LAND CONVEYANCE - WASHINGTON COUNTY
                  Act of Jun. 13, 1984, P.L. 383, No. 80              Cl. 85
                                  AN ACT

     Authorizing the Township of Independence, Washington County, to
        convey a certain tract of land acquired pursuant to the
        Project 70 Land Acquisition and Borrowing Act.

        The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania
     hereby enacts as follows:

        Section 1.  (a)  Pursuant to the requirements of section
     20(b) of the act of June 22, 1964 (Sp.Sess., P.L.131, No.8),
     known as the Project 70 Land Acquisition and Borrowing Act, the
     General Assembly hereby authorizes the Township of Independence,
     with the approval of the Department of Community Affairs, to
     convey a certain tract of land situated in the Township of
     Independence, Washington County, Pennsylvania, to Michael D.
     Klem and Deborah B. Klem, his wife, for a consideration equal to
     the fair market value as determined by an independent appraiser
     selected by the Department of Community Affairs.
        (b)  The land shall be free of restrictions on use and
     alienation prescribed by section 20 of the Project 70 Land
     Acquisition and Borrowing Act, upon the payment of the amount of
     the aforesaid fair market value into the Project 70 Land
     Acquisition Sinking Fund.

        Compiler's Note:  The Department of Community Affairs,
            referred to in subsec. (a), was abolished by Act 58 of
            1996 and its functions were transferred to the Department
            of Community and Economic Development.
        Section 2.  The parcel of land authorized to be transferred
     pursuant to this act to Michael D. Klem and Deborah B. Klem, his
     wife, by the Township of Independence, Washington County, is
     more particularly described as follows:
        Beginning at a concrete monument which is the northwestern
     corner of the tract herein described; thence by land now or
     formerly of Klem south 38 degrees 24 minutes east 620.05 feet to
     a concrete monument; thence by land now or formerly of Southwest
     Coal Company north 48 degrees 10 minutes east 48.88 feet to a
     point in Township Road No. 727; thence along said Township Road
     No. 727 north 27 degrees 25 minutes west 106.29 feet to a point;
     thence along said Township Road No. 727 north 10 degrees 08
     minutes west 63.05 feet to a point; thence along said Township
     Road No. 727 north 06 degrees 06 minutes west 161.63 feet to a
     point; thence by land now or formerly of Independence Township
     Park north 67 degrees 52 minutes west a distance of 368.54 feet
     to the place of beginning.
        Section 3.  Costs and fees related to the preparation and
     recordation of documents relating to the conveyance shall be
     paid by the grantee.
        Section 4.  This act shall take effect in 60 days.
