Submissions filed via the ETIAS transmission platform are not required to bear an electronic signature.
Parties who submit requests via the ETIAS transmission platform and who live abroad are not required to provide an address for service in Switzerland.
When an appeal is filed via the ETIAS submission platform, the appellant shall be automatically requested to pay an advance on costs. If the payment deadline is not met, the appeal will be dismissed. An application for legal aid in accordance with Article 65 APA1remains reserved.
Rulings and judgments issued via the ETIAS transmission platform must bear an electronic signature in accordance with the Federal Act of 18 March 20162on Electronic Signatures.
Communications to the parties to the proceedings that are transmitted via the ETIAS transmission platform are deemed to have been made at the moment they are retrieved from the platform, but no later than the seventh day after they were made available on the platform.
The Federal Council shall regulate the following aspects of the procedure for using the ETIAS transmission platform:
the signature to be used for rulings and judgments;
the format of the decision and its attachments;
the details of the transmission channel;
the authorised methods for paying the advance on costs;
