Commentaries: Art. 98b

The FDFA in consultation with SEM may authorise third parties to carry out the following tasks in relation to the visa procedure:
1. arrangement of appointments with a view to granting a visa;
2. ¹ receiving documents (visa application form, travel document, supporting documents);
3. ² verifying the authenticity, integrity and validity of the travel document and checking the quality and accuracy of the documents presented;
4. charging fees;
5. ³ recording biometric data;
6. ⁴ returning the travel document to the holder at the end of the procedure.
The FDFA and SEM shall ensure that the third parties to whom duties are delegated comply with the regulations on data protection and security.
The Federal Council shall determine the conditions under which third parties may be delegated duties in accordance with paragraph 1.
