The EDI, in consultation with ENSI, shall define the requirements for the handling and the location of radiation sources. In particular, it shall specify:
- structural measures and the basis for calculations in this regard;
- the requirements for irradiation, administration and relaxation rooms, and for rooms for equipment used for nuclear medicine examinations;
- the radiological protection measures for the care and accommodation of patients receiving therapy;
- the type of storage and the requirements for facilities for the storage of radioactive materials.
