The type and amount of social assistance benefits are determined by the specific conditions in the receiving state, taking into account the basic needs of Swiss nationals living there.
The Confederation may grant additional social assistance to the Swiss Abroad who receive social assistance benefits from the receiving state, in compliance with the principle set out under paragraph 1.
