violating or endangering the independence of the Confederation or
endangering the independence of the Confederation by bringing about the interference of a foreign power in federal affairs,
shall be liable to a custodial sentence of not less than one year. 2. Any person who enters into a relationship with the government of a foreign state or its agents with the aim of bringing about a war against the Confederation shall be liable to a custodial sentence of not less than three years.
In serious cases a life sentence may be imposed.1
